Dorit and PK Kemsley’s Legal Trouble: What We Know

posted in: Entertainment News | 0

Dorit Kemsley once declared that she believes in an excess of everything — except moderation — but that may have to change.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and her husband, PK Kemsley, have made headlines for various legal battles since she joined the Bravo series in 2016 for season 7.

While Dorit was introduced to the cast as Lisa Vanderpump’s friend, the two women had a falling out during season 9. In the aftermath of the drama, the SUR owner called for her former friends’ legal trouble to be a story line on the series.

Dorit, for her part, told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in May 2019 that she was “grateful that the other ladies didn’t bring up” the lawsuit filed against the pair over her swimsuit line during the season.

“Trust me [I want to talk about it],” she said at the time. “Unfortunately my hands are tied. You can’t discuss legal issues when they are going on and I respect that.”

Camille Grammer, meanwhile, didn’t let the twosome off the hook, accusing PK of owing money to someone during a June 2019 episode of the series.

“PK had a heart to heart with me, he started opening up by saying that he had fallen on hard times,” Camille explained on the RHOBH aftershow. “And I see Dorit running around with very, very expensive clothes. Some of her tops could be two to three thousand [dollars] and the pants two to three thousand [dollars]. That’s a $6,000 outfit, not including the diamonds and the shoes. I question that, how could you afford that?”

The Swimsuit Drama

In August 2018, Dorit made headlines when a video surfaced online of someone confronting her over money she allegedly owed her former Beverly Beach partner Ryan Horne.

“Why don’t you pay back Ryan Horne the money you owe him,” a woman yelled at Dorit during the cast’s trip to the Bahamas. “You cheap bitch!”

Horne sued Dorit and PK, claiming that was never paid back the $205,000 he fronted for her new swimsuit line. Dorit counter-sued Horne, referring to him “merely a vendor” for the fashion brand. In January 2019, a judge ordered Dorit and Horne to mediation, warning the pair that the case will go to trial in January 2020 if they do not figure out an agreement.

The Casino Win

According to The Blast, PK was accused of owing $75,000 in gambling debt to a sports betting company in the U.K. in February 2019. Two months later, the couple received good news: a judge dismissed the lawsuit against PK.

Dorit Is Confident

Dorit told Andy Cohen in April 2019 that she is “very comfortable with [our] legal position.”

The Loan

Dorit and PK were under fire again in May 2019 after a man named Nicos Kirzis alleged that he loaned the music manager $1.2 million eight years prior. According to the paperwork, PK allegedly had only paid Kirzis $250,000, which covered the interest accumulated over the years, leaving a balance of $1,235,573.66.

Camille Grammer’s Accusations

Camille questioned her costars’ finances during the June 2019 episode of RHOBH. “I didn’t know where you were getting all this money from,” Camille said to Dorit on the series.

Camille also alleged that PK owed “a lot of money” to someone “very close” to her.

Dorit fired back after the episode aired. “PK’s affairs, and whoever’s coming out trying to say he owes him money, that is from another lifetime ago. It’s way before me, it’s way before his bankruptcy,” the designer said on Bravo’s aftershow at the time. “It’s at the height — and unfortunately, when you become public they come out of the woodworks and that’s exactly what’s happening. There’s far more to the story than what people think that they know, and there’s a lot that I can’t say, obviously, because it’s in the hands of the lawyers and where it should be.”

PK’s Job

PK, for his part, sent a message to Camille via Instagram about his employment. After the episode aired, he shared a post that reads, “I create. I take risks. I live my passion. I am an entrepreneur.”

“In answer to the multiple questions about what I do,” PK captioned the message. “This is what I do…”

On the series, fans see PK, who owns Nixxi Entertainment agency, work as Boy George’s manager.

Submitting Finances

The pair were both ordered by a judge for an examination of finances amid Kirzis’ lawsuit against PK.

Bank Account Frozen

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Dorit and PK had their bank account frozen in July 2019. Per the paperwork, Dorit attempted to prevent the court from seizing the $29,634.10 in a City National Bank Account, arguing that it was her separate money.

The duo’s account was ordered to remain untouched until their September 6, 2019, court date.

Dorit Downplays

“That’s not even true,” the reality star insisted on Watch What Happens Live in July 2019 when asked about her and PK’s bank account being frozen. “No, not the way it’s been blown up in the press. … It’s an ongoing issue that PK has had. And this was our bank account that I actually stopped anything from happening, and the judge decided to wait until the situation … uh, things become more clear, and that’s it.”
