‘Teen Mom’ Stars React to Audio of Amber Allegedly Assaulting Ex Andrew

Amber Portwood’s Teen Mom costars have strong reactions to an alleged leaked audio of her physically and verbally assaulting her ex-boyfriend Andrew Glennon

The audio, which was released by the YouTube channel Without a Crystal Ball on Friday, September 13, was from a fight between the Teen Mom OG star, 29, and her then-partner, 35, on Christmas Eve 2018, according to the account. The channel also claims that the audio was leaked by a family member of either Portwood or Glennon to show the 16 and Pregnant alum’s “behavior when MTV’s cameras are not on.”

According to Without a Crystal Ball, the heated altercation between Portwood and Glennon started after she “insulted” the couple’s 16-month-old son, James. After Glennon “attempted to defend” the baby, “Portwood physically assaulted him,” the account claimed.

“Not only did she attack Glennon — but she told him she didn’t want to be a mother to her son,” the channel wrote in its video. “She threatened to stab Glennon in the neck and destroy him financially.”

The recording starts with Glennon claiming that Portwood “didn’t want” another baby, to which she responds, “I said that I wanted a baby later when I was in my 30s! 32 was when I wanted to have a baby.” The MTV personality, who was diagnosed with bipolar and borderline personality disorders in 2008, also shares 10-year-old daughter Leah with ex Gary Shirley.

The audio continues with Portwood screaming at Glennon to tell her how she had a baby when she explicitly didn’t want to. When the reality star apparently starts attacking her ex, Glennon yells, “Ow! Stop! I’m holding James! Stop hitting me.”

The Indiana native then goes on a rant, insulting her former beau.

“You fat ass. You ugly fat f–k. You don’t deserve me,” she says. “I’m going to get my money back. You disgusting f–king fat ass. I’m going to blow you out of the water. You will never have a career in this industry. But I will make hundreds of thousands of f–king dollars.”

After Glennon refuses to leave their home, Portwood seemingly lobs an item at him and their child.

“You’re going to throw something at me and the baby?” he says, to which Portwood responds, “I will f–king kill you. Get out. … I’m going to stab you in the neck.”

A source close to Portwood told Us Weekly after the audio’s release, “Not only does this seem edited but she was set up by Andrew.”

Seven months after this recording was made, Portwood was arrested for felony domestic battery charges after a fight with Glennon involving a machete, which she denied.

After the audio’s release, Portwood’s Teen Mom OG costars, including Maci Bookout and Catelynn Lowell, took to their social media to express their shock over the tape.

Catelynn Lowell

“I would hope that from watching my journey for 10 years that you all would know that I do not condone violence of any sort especially in front of children… my heart breaks… and I am truly sad…” Lowell, 27, tweeted on September 13 after the audio’s release. “I in no way condone violence!! I hope she gets the help she needs…”

After fans claimed that the reality star didn’t take a strong enough stance on the alleged abuse, Lowell tweeted, “Wow I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t. … Just know that I didn’t hear that audio till all of you did and I’m so sad and heart broken….”

Maci Bookout

Bookout, 28, broke her silence on the audio on September 17 with a statement on Twitter about how heartbroken she was over the incident.

“My heart breaks for everyone involved and affected by this terrible situation,” she wrote. “I do not condone or support abuse or violence of any type. Amber has been a close, genuine friend of mine for many years. I will support her in getting the help that she needs. I truly hope and pray that everyone involved receives the help necessary to recover from what has happened and the guidance to prevent future events.”

Tyler Baltierra

Baltierra, 27, who is married and shares three kids with Lowell, took to his Twitter on September 13 to urge Portwood and Glennon to seek help.

“Honestly…my heart is really saddened by what I have heard. I just pray that everyone gets the help they truly need in this situation. Abuse is NEVER okay…EVER!” he tweeted.

Farrah Abraham

In a statement on her Instagram Story on September 16, Abraham, 28, slammed Portwood for the alleged abuse. She also criticized any Teen Mom costars who supported the behavior.

“If all the ‘moms’ on this show support this behavior their [sic] all unfit moms,” she wrote. “The show is responsible for this relationship, this child obuse [sic]. It’s disgusting, disgusting and illegal.”

Abraham continued, “I’m so disgusted by the cast of teen mom … the injustice, no ethics, illegal abusive behavior in front of a child . 10 years same behavior .. JAIL TIME FOR THIS FREAK.”

Cheyenne Floyd

In a since-deleted tweet, Floyd, 26, who joined Teen Mom in its seventh season, expressed her sympathy for Portwood.

“All I can say is that I am a praying for everyone involved,” she wrote. “My heart is so sad after what I heard and I hope she gets the help she needs.”

Debra Danielsen

In her statement, Danielsen, 61, who is Abraham’s mom, hoped that the situation was a wakeup call for Portwood to seek better medical attention for her mental health.

“I believe Amber must take time out to get the proper medical treatment she needs,” she said in a statement to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup on September 16. “I know inside is a wonderful woman who is struggling and wants to be her best, but her support system has been weak to non-existent. I really think she has been misdiagnosed and hasn’t received medical treatment that would make her feel tremendously better.”

Shawn Portwood

After the audio’s release, Shawn, who is Amber’s older brother, defended his sister on Twitter, claiming that the tape was manipulated by Glennon to favor the cinematographer’s side.

“Did you hear the entire clip? Or just the clip the Andrew wanted you to hear?” Shawn wrote in a tweet to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup on September 13. “I’m not condoning what she said but I will say this there’s far more to that clip than what he gave them people to leak out. He provoked her and provoked her and provoked her.”

When fans criticized Shawn for not keeping a closer eye on his sister, he clapped back, explaining that he’s not Amber’s caretaker.

“The negativity and hatered [sic] from some of you is horrible,” he tweeted. “You people act like I should quit my job move back to Indiana and hold my sister’s hand and bring her to a therapist every single day. I talk to her, I try to help her and I will always protect her.”

Legal Trouble

In July, Amber was arrested for felony domestic battery charges in Indiana after a fight with Glennon. According to court documents, the MTV star had a machete during the altercation, which she used to threaten her ex.

“[Amber] struck the machete at and into a door, while Andrew Glennon was standing directly on the other side of the door, that created a substantial risk of bodily injury to Andrew Glennon,” the documents stated.

On the Teen Mom OG reunion in August, Amber denied having a machete.

“I literally opted out of drug court a long time ago to put myself in prison to help myself,” she said. “Why would I jeopardize … you haven’t heard s–t from me since then, haven’t gotten in trouble one time. … But all of a sudden I’m running after him with a machete? You’re insane.”

Baby Comes First

After Amber’s arrest, a source told Us Weekly in July that Glennon was seeking full custody of their son, James

“Andrew is doing it as a protective measure to ensure whatever happens with upcoming court rulings, their son will have the best outcome regardless,” the insider said. “Amber and Andrew still really care about each other and this is not the end of their relationship.”

It’s Over

A source told Us in August that Amber and Glennon, who started dating in 2017, were officially broken up after the Teen Mom OG star’s July arrest.

“Andrew seems more concerned with public perception than getting back together with Amber. He’s done nothing to indicate he wants to be back with her, and she’s done nothing to indicate she wants to get back together with him,” the insider said. “They’re as good as done and haven’t spoken since the court ordered them not to.”
