One of the four suspects in a deadly home invasion in Brookhaven this weekend is dead and a sheriff’s deputy was shot after gunfire was exchanged this afternoon in Copiah County.
Brookhaven Police Chief Kenneth Collins said Shawan Allen was in a trailer and he shot at law enforcement. Shots were returned and Allen was killed.
The deputy was wearing a bulletproof vest and was not seriously injured.
Two suspects are in custody. Suspect Adrian Smith was arrested earlier today at the airport in Jackson.
The search continues for the fourth suspect, Justin Anderson.
